The Host Greets and facilitates the guest experience by scheduling reservations, organizing server sections and maintaining an efficient customer flow. A host is responsible for communicating feedback from customers and informing staff of menu or operational changes
The Host/Hostess will be under the guidance of the restaurant head and according to the company policies and procedures will carry out his / her duties based on the following fundamentals:
Ø Maintains the highest standard of professional ethics
Ø Emphasizes and projects a high image for LitenHealthy
Ø Is concerned with the operating objectives of the restaurant
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Ø Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner and bid them goodbye as in when they leave
Ø Attend to all telephone calls and make sure that all calls are answered within the first 2 rings.
Ø Ensure that the host/ hostess desk is neat and tidy and set up as per standard including the stationery required is adequate and shall replenish stocks when required.
Ø Co-ordinate with the security at the front porch when the guest arrives and leaves
Ø Seat guests at the appropriate tables as per the organized seating chart
Ø Organize and prepare reservations( over the phone as well as in person)
Ø Call all the guests who have made a reservation for that day to reconfirm
Ø When not possible to confirm a reservation as per the guest’s requirement, he/she shall attempt to provide an alternative that appeal to the guest. When required, he/she shall place guests on a waiting list and call them back when a table is required.
Ø Ensure guests are seated in order and that does not overload a particular server
Ø Interact with guests to make them comfortable, build a rapport and obtain feedback; at the same time, he/shall do so without imposing herself or being over solicitous. He/she shall be sensitive to the guests need for privacy.
Ø Calculate total guests for the day (Classified into first and second seating), note it on the day’s reservation chart and thereafter file the day’s reservation chart.
Ø Provide guests with menus
Ø Ensure that dining and service areas and properly set up and clean
Ø Communicate with all the guest to ensure quality satisfaction with food, beverage and service
Ø Respond appropriate to customer complaints and bring any issues to the attention of the restaurant head
Ø Communicate with management, kitchen staff, and serving staff to ensure customer flow
Ø Inform guests of the specials and features
Ø Complete financial transactions as required
Ø Plan parties or special events if any occasion that the guest is celebrating at the restaurant, he/she shall accordingly inform the restaurant head so that the suitable arrangements can be made. He/ she shall participate in wishing the guest on behalf of the restaurant.
Ø Clean, clear and set tables as required
Ø Keep guest data updated with regard to regular guests. Co-ordinate with the Restaurant manager for necessary PR formalities on occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries of regulars.
